Alt
Alt is a marketplace, vault, weekly auction house and lender for graded trading cards, run by Alt Platform, Inc. of San Francisco since 2020. Every card sold on it sits in a Delaware vault; buyers pay nothing on the fixed-price exchange and a 20 percent premium at auction that Alt splits with the seller; sellers pay 4 to 14 percent on fixed-price sales and 1 to 3 percent of Alt's own valuation to take a card out of the vault. That valuation, Alt Value, also sets the insurance cover, the cash advance a consignor can draw and the collateral value on a loan. The company raised $106 million by 2021, finances its loan book through a Trinity Capital facility at an 11 percent floor, runs a house fund whose only SEC record is $5.8 million from 60 investors in 2021 and which bought a $3.15 million Kobe Bryant card in April 2026, is suing PWCC for $13.7 million over shill bidding, settled its own suit against Beckett over a trimmed $168,000 Stephen Curry card, and carries an F from the Better Business Bureau with eight complaints in three years, the available excerpts involving withheld cards, cash advances and funds.
