Diligence built from filings, not pitch decks.
When a client brings you an alternative platform or offering, the marketing materials are the easy part. AltStreet diligence reports reconstruct the offering from primary sources — SEC filings, FINRA records, offering documents — so you can see what is verified, what is platform-reported, and what is missing.

What a report contains
Regulatory & structural review
Exemption structure, broker-dealer and transfer agent status, ATS registration, entity relationships, and fee-earning affiliates — each confirmed against SEC and FINRA records, with verified negatives stated as findings.
Fee stack decomposition
Every disclosed fee layer, its basis, its recipient, and whether the recipient is affiliated. Where offering documents and marketing materials disagree, both figures are cited with dated sources.
Track record verification
Exit-by-exit reconstruction from Form D amendments, annual reports, and distribution statements where filings permit. Platform-reported figures are labeled as such and never blended with verified figures.
Liquidity & governance terms
Lockups, gates, redemption mechanics, redemption fulfillment where observable, manager removal rights, and drag-along provisions, quoted from governing documents.
Filing-derived signals
Amendments, impairments, liquidity class changes, auditor changes, and going-concern language surfaced from continuous EDGAR monitoring across the covered entity’s filing history.
Limitations
Every report carries a limitations section stating what could not be verified and why. Absence of a finding is never presented as a clean bill of health.
Use cases
Who the reports are for
RIAs fielding client requests
A client arrives with a platform they found. The report gives you a documented basis for the conversation — what is verified, what is platform-reported, and what is missing — in your compliance file.
Family offices allocating directly
Direct positions in sponsor offerings without the diligence staff of an institution. The report is the staff work: structure, fees, track record, and governance terms from the documents.
Funds evaluating platforms as counterparties
Origination, co-investment, or forward-flow decisions that turn on a platform’s underwriting history — including deal-level performance and workout data the platform’s public pages do not display.
Evidence standards
Reports follow the same editorial constitution as all AltStreet research.
- Every claim is cited to a primary source with a document and date.
- Platform-reported figures are labeled unaudited and never presented as verified.
- No figure that cannot be traced to a primary source is included.
- Findings are descriptive, not advisory. Reports state what the documents say — the suitability judgment is yours.
- Platforms do not pay for, preview, or influence diligence reports. The advisor is the client.
Continuous coverage
Deal alerts and committee memos, on every new offering
A commissioned report covers one investment you choose. AltStreet Deal Intelligence watches the covered platforms for new offerings, sends the alert the day one appears with the sponsor's filed record attached, and follows with an analyst-approved investment committee memo. The Adviser plan carries a client-file license and alert routing by platform, asset class or minimum check, so the memo can sit in the client's file as the record of what was reviewed.
Universe
Coverage
The research desk maintains continuous EDGAR monitoring across pre-IPO secondaries, farmland, private credit, royalties, tokenized real-world assets, on-chain credit, collectibles, and adjacent categories. Reports can cover platforms already in the research universe or entities not yet covered — new-entity reports carry a longer turnaround for filing reconstruction.
Process
How an engagement works
01
Scope
You name the platform or offering and what the decision turns on. We confirm what the filing record can and cannot answer before anything is billed.
02
Confirm & invoice
Fixed fee and delivery date confirmed in writing within one business day. Net-15 invoice; delivery is not withheld pending payment.
03
Research
Filing reconstruction, document review, and signal-history pull across the entity’s full EDGAR footprint. Questions that surface mid-engagement come to you, not into assumptions.
04
Delivery & walkthrough
Cited report with source appendix, plus a walkthrough call. One round of follow-up questions is included; material post-delivery filings within 60 days are flagged at no charge.
Beyond reports
Bespoke deal-level datasets
The research desk delivers deal-level datasets built from direct platform data captures and filings: per-deal identifiers, statuses, lineage across refinancings, and originator or underwriter attribution — including status detail captured from platform data surfaces that public deal pages do not display. Every dataset ships with a methodology memo documenting capture method, date, and rate bases, and is re-verified against live sources at delivery.
