How this directory is built

Form ADV Schedule D, Section 7.B.(1) asks an adviser to name, for each private fund it manages, the fund's auditor (question 23), prime brokers (24), custodians (25), administrators (26) and marketers (28). AltStreet reads every adviser's current Form ADV and keeps the schedule as structured data; the SEC's own bulk file stops at the end of 2024, so the current filings are read from each adviser's rendered Form ADV on IAPD.

Advisers type the same firm many ways. Legal entities are grouped into one firm record by a normalized name, with an alias table for the brands whose entities do not share one (GlobeOp under SS&C, McGladrey under RSM, Merrill Lynch under Bank of America). A firm's page lists the legal names behind it. Counts are distinct private funds on the advisers' latest schedules, gross asset value is the sum of those funds' stated values, and the adviser count is the number of distinct filers naming the firm.

Firms are here because advisers disclosed them, not because they asked. Audit firms with a PCAOB record also have an auditor profile; the advisers themselves are in the adviser directory.
