How much capital is forming, and how fast

New Form D notices by pooled investment funds, by fund type (venture, private equity, hedge, other) and stated offering amount, monthly, from the SEC's structured Form D data plus AltStreet's daily-index lane. A Form D marks a raise already live, not a launch announcement.

METHODOLOGY

For each monthly cohort of Form D offerings (by the original Form D filing date), the share closed, in percent: offerings whose latest filing reports an amount sold at or above the stated total offering amount, so nothing is left to sell. Indefinite offerings can never reach this state. The secondary value is the share that went quiet without reporting full subscription: last filing 13 or more months old, split in raw into 'lapsed' (declared to last a year or less, or duration not stated, so no amendment was required) and 'dark' (declared to continue beyond a year, so the annual amendment is overdue). Raw also carries the shares still raising (amended within 13 months with sales moving), stalled (amending on schedule with unchanged totals), pre-sale, and the pooled-fund share of the cohort. A print is written only once the cohort is 24 months old, when every offering declared to run past a year has had one annual amendment fall due; younger cohorts are still maturing. Offerings are chained across filings by each amendment's previous-accession reference, so an amendment is never attributed to a namesake. Every print is recomputed from the whole table each run.

What investors got versus what was promised

Fund-level realized returns are not disclosed in filings. Licensed benchmarks only.

Promised vs realized

Two populations: targets on published offerings, realized figures on exits with a disclosed outcome. Read side by side, never as one number.

Source: AltStreet platform_exits (filing-sourced dispositions, 1-K asset sales and platform-reported exits) and published offering terms. Realized figures cover exits with a disclosed outcome, which over-represents platforms that disclose; a loss rate counts exits recorded as a loss over exits with any recorded type.

NAV per share

Latest reported net asset value per share by platform (median across its vehicles) and the 12-month change. From 1-K, 1-SA, 253G2 supplements and 10-Q filings.

NAV is the sponsor's own valuation, not a trade; a stable NAV says nothing about whether redemptions are being met. Redemption request and fulfillment fields are collected but not yet populated, so gating is not observable here yet.
